The Hormonal Health
Coach
About Me
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, including more than 14 years as a highly specialised Allied Health Professional (AHP) within the NHS—I bring a wealth of clinical insight and compassionate understanding to my work.
But it was my personal health crisis in 2020 that truly reshaped my path and purpose.
At the age of 40, I experienced a profound breakdown due to the early and severe onset of perimenopause, something I had never even heard of before it derailed my life. I felt lost, broken, and at times suicidal, unable to understand what was happening to my body and mind.
Despite my professional background, I was let down by the very medical system I had worked within. My GP and other healthcare professionals failed to recognise or address my symptoms adequately. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) was the only treatment option offered, but it made things worse. The testing was minimal—only FSH was checked, a marker that often rises late in the menopausal transition—and I was left without answers.
This experience ignited a fierce determination in me: no woman should have to go through what I did, misunderstood, dismissed, and unsupported.
As a qualified personal trainer, Level 4 coach, and certified emotional coach, I already had a strong foundation in health, fitness, and behaviour change. But I knew I needed to go further. The training I received around menopause and HRT as an AHP didn’t reflect the realities I was witnessing in myself—or in the hundreds of women I coached. That’s when I began exploring functional and holistic health.
I trained as a Functional Health Practitioner and Holistic Nutritional Therapist, embracing a model that looks at the body as an interconnected system. My approach now focuses on addressing root causes of hormonal imbalance—such as stress, blood sugar instability, inflammation, nutritional deficiencies, and lifestyle factors and their effects on thyroid function, gut health and digestion, adrenal health, ovulation, immunity, and the menstrual cycle.
I’m also a certified Women’s Hormonal Health Educator and Menstrual Cycle Educator, a member of the British Menopause Society and The Nutrition Collective, committed to helping women understand and reconnect with their bodies through every life stage.
I have completed postgraduate training in both metabolic health and nutrigenetics, expanding my ability to provide truly personalised support that accounts for individual biochemistry, genetic predispositions, and lifestyle factors. This means I can help women move beyond generic advice and discover what works best for their unique bodies.
Since then, I’ve continued to deepen my knowledge through multiple diplomas in nutrition, behavioural change, and functional nutritional therapy. I’ve undertaken advanced postgraduate clinical training in functional and hormonal health and am currently pursuing an Advanced Practitioner Certification with the Institute of Menstrual Health. I also hold degrees in both science and the arts (BSc Hons, BA Hons), as well as certifications in solution-focused brief therapy, anxiety management, and pre/postnatal coaching.
